Being a nerd is no longer something to be ashamed of, on the contrary! We are shaping the world and taking over!
After all, who is going to build that website for you?
Who will help you when your computer is on the fritz?
But what good is a nerd if you can't understand him? Or if he doesn't understand what you want?
Always code as if the guy who ends up maintaining your code will be a violent psychopath who knows where you live
I do quite a bit of front-end work, so HTML, CSS, Javascript are pretty damn decent. And, yeah, some frameworks as well, but I won't list those here, because the time you read this, they will be outdated...
I know my way around the backend as well too, mostly PHP but I've dabbled with some .NET as well.
Databases? Yeah, I got those covered too. MS-SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, been there, done that!
Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot
But why doesn't anyone ever ask about the important skills? Listening, or explaining something etc?
That is what matters! Listen to your customer, or when explaining something technical to a manager.
And yes, that is where I go above the usual expectations of a nerd.
Use the force, Harry
Als je jezelf leuk kunt opmaken en je kunt jezelf leuk stylen, dan kun je ook een gave website maken.
